I am always surprised and delighted to find the messages in these paintings and this one was no different.
Life during this period was a bit topsy turvy, we had moved into our new home which was a beautiful sanctuary and a wonderful place for me to have my studio. I had previously started a new job that was totally out of my comfort zone and was experiencing many other changes to my life. Life lessons had been coming at me from all directions because my life was out of balance in many areas. Sometime previous to this painting I’d had a spirit drawing done for me in which two birds showed up at the top of the drawing. The lady explained to me that they were the representation of the masculine and feminine aspects of me and they were out of balance. I was advised to pay careful attention to this message, which I did and worked on bringing them into balance. I felt the need to do a painting and as I usually do I asked “Please show me what I need to know right now and have I done enough to bring male and female aspects into balance? |
The birds at the base of my picture showed me at that time I was on track to bringing that balance into being. The birds now were almost in line with each other, I had just a little more work to do to finish what I had started.
This time I was represented by the Indian maiden being surrounded by nature, the birds, the wolf and the snake. Then on the LHS is someone in a riding pose, seated like the jockey on his mount. Again all these aspects bringing the message of balance, a rider can’t ride properly unless he has good balance. Have you noticed that when you are in balance you are in tune with nature and animals will come close to you?
Nature is a wonderful healer of the spirit soothing the weary soul. I was being told I needed to take time out to relax and enjoy and commune with nature. What was required was relaxing and meditating not doing, doing, doing all the time, focusing on my health and my needs instead of always doing for others. The focus has to be on the self, first and foremost, otherwise what good are we to those we love and care about when we fall down.
I am truly grateful for the messages in my paintings because they help me to grow and the insights revealed have been real gems. Good reminders for us all.
