This was my very first painting, the one I used on my business card previously. The content of this painting was a dream I had some fourteen years prior. It was in this dream I saw my husband and I step through a portal from another dimension to this one. He was looking out to a view of beautiful golden fields of grain, and saying “Come on we have a lot to do, we don’t have time to waste.” Whilst I on the other hand was reluctant to leave my home, I guess knowing what was before us in this life. I looked back to where I was leaving and I saw an Indian village resting peacefully by a beautiful stream. As we stepped through the portal another family, a man, his wife and child (all Indian) stepped back into where we had come from. This was the extent of the dream. |
In the painting the dimension we came from is in the top left corner, beneath that is a head and shoulder portrayal of me wearing a crystal pendant. You can’t see my head because it is behind this first world. Next on the path is ‘the mask of humour’. At the beginning of the workshop the facilitator laid out Angel cards and told us each to choose one. My word for that day in the workshop was humour. I believe this is the way in which I am to do what I came to do, through humour. The next on the path is Earth where I am to share what I know to be right and beneficial for the people of this world. The seed pod piercing Earth is that information being shared, if the people are open to it and willing to give it some thought. From there to the bottom right is an Indian tepee, above that a Tibetan monk in prayer, above that a paintbrush. Down in the bottom right corner is the planet Jupiter from which there is someone observing me and all I do, as well as the outcome. Above this is the coral which denotes the Queensland coastal region, I was born in Brisbane and my eldest son was born in Cairns. Halfway up on the right side along the edge is a small penguin which would denote to me the southern hemisphere. The rainbow that goes across the top is in fact the Rainbow Serpent, which I only saw a couple of years later, is part of my heritage from my great grandmother. This heritage I discovered about seven years prior to doing the painting. The brown hand-like markings in the top left corner I believe to be the Hand of The Divine who is guiding and directing me throughout this whole process, as are we all guided when we take note of it.
Over time other images have emerged which also are relevant to my journey. Over on the bottom left is the image of a native woman who I feel is South American and hence my being drawn to the Mayan Astrology. Looking below the paintbrush I also see an Indian Shaman sitting cross legged with head slightly bent dressed in blue with a darker colour added. In the dream the family who went back into that dimension from Earth wore buckskins coloured blue and black. Right in the very centre of the painting in the background you will see as large as life a big brown bear, my protector. Now look between the tepee and the paintbrush you will see an ET with the big dark eyes.
A short while later when I had my astrology done, I described the painting to the lady, she said that I had described my astrology chart from start to finish.
The outcome of this whole painting process is made all the more amazing when you understand that the painting creates itself and you do not know what the end result will be. I am not literally painting any of this in as you would in say a landscape; it literally emerges on its own. I believe due to your Inner Self prompting each step.
